Make Blueberry Oat Smoothies Dairy Free for a Healthy Version

This dairy free blueberry oatmeal smoothie without yogurt is a fantastic take on the classic without all the dairy. I’m all about making recipes plant-based and dairy free when I can. Dairy-free cooking does NOT have to be bland, boring, or flavorless… It’s quite the opposite when done right. You can achieve total richness and creaminess with some simple swaps.

By building meals around vegan pantry staples and swapping in a few plant-based ingredients you can make healthier meals for you and your family. The Best Blender for the Job

I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my high-speed Vitamix blender is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This appliance will blend even the toughest of ingredients (frozen fruit, anyone?) into pulp.  I prefer using my blender to my food processor for sauces or homemade hummus, as it’s much easier to clean out the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis, if not twice a day!

Frozen Fruit Recipes For the Win!

I used frozen blueberries and banana in this smoothie instead of fresh. By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have frozen fruit to use in smoothies in no time. Check out all my recipes that use Freezer Ingredients on The Herbeevore – great for those days when you want a meal ready fast!
