Does it get any more Midwestern than this?  As a gal from the central states, I had to create this fun twist on deviled eggs with cottage cheese. They are super high protein, filling, and a great appetizer for a crowd. 

Cottage cheese: you either love it or hate it. I happen to be in the first camp, so I love adding cottage cheese to all kinds of great recipes: cottage cheese pasta salad, high protein breakfast bowls, and now my cottage cheese deviled eggs. The cottage cheese replaces mayo, so this is a great alternative if you don’t like the taste of mayonnaise!

This deviled eggs with cottage cheese recipe is fantastic to make ahead of time for a party, potluck, or gathering. Making this recipe in advance allows you to skip any cooking or prep on the day-of. How Do I Make Deviled Eggs without Mayo?

  1. Peel and cut the hard-boiled eggs in half. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a bowl, and place the egg white halves on a plate.
  2. To the yolks, add the cottage cheese, mustard, sweet relish, salt, and pepper.  Mash well with a fork until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Fill each of the egg white halves with a small dollop of yolk filling.  Sprinkle a pinch of paprika on each deviled egg, and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet relish chopped
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper
  • Sprinkle paprika for garnish
