This caprese spinach salad recipe is our go-to summer appetizer, perfect with garden tomatoes and topped with a drizzle of homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This is a great starter salad, but hearty enough to enjoy as a whole meal – served with thick and crusty bread.

Fresh mozzarella balls packed in water give this salad a savory salty bite! And don’t be intimidated by making your own salad dressing – it only takes a few minutes and couldn’t be easier. Add all your ingredients to a bowl or a mason jar with a lid, stir or shake, and dress your salad!

A No-Cook Caprese Recipe That’s Perfect for Summer

This no-cook spinach caprese salad is a quick and simple recipe.  I love a good no-cook recipe for those days when I’m not feeling like standing around the stove, or for summer nights when it’s too hot to cook. I have a whole collection of recipes that require zero cooking at all, check them out here!

This salad comes together in about 5 minutes, and doesn’t require the stove or microwave to make. Just use a few staple ingredients and you have a tasty meal ready in no time.  And very little to clean up afterwards… an added bonus!

How Do I Make This Spinach Caprese Salad?

  1. On a plate or in a bowl, add the fresh spinach, and mozzarella balls.
  2. Slice tomatoes, and arrange them around the mozzarella.  I used a mix of cherry tomatoes for color – but pick the sweetest and most in-season tomatoes you can find (usually cherry tomatoes are my go-to off season).
  3. Top with the fresh shredded basil. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the salad and crack fresh black pepper over the salad.
  4. Serve immediately, and enjoy!
