This spicy pineapple salad is a bright and refreshing appetizer – with jalapeno peppers, cilantro, and a fresh lime vinaigrette dressing. It’s sweet and perfectly spiced, a fantastic summer salad that’s great to make in the winter to brighten up your table.
Ready in just 10 minutes, this simple no-cook pineapple salad is a little something different to bring to your next potluck, barbecue, gathering or party. It makes a great side dish to enjoy with grilled entrees, making this a fun way to transform fruit salad.
While this spicy pineapple salad looks like the perfect summer appetizer – don’t let this recipe fool you, it’s great year round! I had some pineapple leftover from a Hawaiian themed party last week (because I needed a serious dose of the tropics in chilly January) and decided to make a sweet and spicy salad.
This easy recipe has pineapple, thinly sliced jalapeno peppers, cilantro, salt & pepper, and a light lime juice vinaigrette dressing. It takes just minutes to make, and is a total crowd pleaser recipe!

What’s In This Pineapple Jalapeno Salad Recipe?
I cook with fresh produce from my garden and from Misfits Market– they sell fantastic fruit, vegetables, & pantry staples at a discounted price. We get Misfit boxes every other week and love picking out favorite produce for delivery. Get $10 off your first box here!
- Pineapple – fresh pineapple works best for this recipe – so I would skip canned or frozen. If you don’t want to cut up a whole pineapple, totally fine to buy pre-sliced pineapple rings in the produce section!
- Jalapeno Peppers – I also like fresh peppers for this recipe
- Cilantro – adds a ton of bright flavor to this salad. If you don’t love cilantro, you can use parsley instead.
- Lime Juice – fresh is best!
- Really Good Extra Virgin Olive Oil: I like to use this fruity olive oil which has a fantastic flavor.
- Raw Honey: We use our own honey, straight out of the beehives! As beekeepers, we have plenty of raw honey so I try to use it in all my recipes instead of sugar. I’d recommend trying a local farmers market to find the best raw honey in your area. Or else, this raw organic honey online here is the next best thing.
- Salt & Pepper
Is There a Vegan Alternative to Honey?
Yes, you can substitute out the honey in this recipe for agave nectar or maple syrup. I prefer agave nectar, it’s my go-to kitchen sweetener because it’s absolutely delicious, and buying organic agave is inexpensive (compared to other organic sweeteners).
How Do I Make Sweet & Spicy Jalapeno Pineapple Salad?
- Remove tough outer skin from pineapple, and remove the core from the fruit. You’ll be left with the soft inner fruit. Slice into rings, and then into bite-sized pieces. Place them on a plate.
- Add the thinly sliced (or chopped) jalapeno peppers, cilantro, salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, add the olive oil, lime juice, and honey – whisk well to combine. Pour the dressing over the salad.
- Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate up to 4 hours before serving.
A No Cook Pineapple Salad Recipe That’s Perfect All Year
This no-cook spicy pineapple salad is a quick and simple recipe. I love a good no-cook recipe for those days when I’m not feeling like standing around the stove, or for summer nights when it’s too hot to cook. I have a whole collection of recipes that require zero cooking at all, check them out here!
This salad comes together in about 10 (15 if you are coring the pineapple yourself) minutes, and doesn’t require the stove or microwave to make. Just fresh produce, and use a few pantry staple ingredients for the dressing and you have an easy meal ready in no time. And very little to clean up afterwards… an added bonus!
A Vegetarian & Gluten Free Pineapple Salad
This gluten free pineapple salad recipe is a simple meal to make without any wheat products. I’m all about making recipes gluten free when I can.
Gluten free cooking does NOT have to be bland, boring, or flavorless… It’s quite the opposite when done right. By building meals around gluten free pantry staples and swapping in a few wheat-less ingredients you can make better meals for you and your family.
I made a list of my 125 favorite gluten free pantry ingredients that we use on a weekly basis, and check out all my gluten free recipes here that are on The Herbeevore. These easy recipes are fantastic meals for everyone at your table.
