This Cranberry Orange Juice Smoothie is an easy and refreshing breakfast recipe – sweet and tangy!  With Banana, oranges, protein powder, and cranberries.

This fruity smoothie will let you rise and SHINE!  Make this recipe with either cranberry juice or whole cranberries – both taste amazing! This 5 minute blender breakfast recipe is a great low calorie breakfast option, and can be made high protein with an extra scoop of protein powder.

This easy cranberry smoothie is a quick and simple recipe.  I love a good no-cook recipe for those days when I’m not feeling like standing around the stove, or for summer nights when it’s too hot to cook. I have a whole collection of recipes that require zero cooking at all, check them out here

This smoothie comes together in about 5 minutes, and doesn’t require the stove or microwave to make. Just some fresh produce, and a few pantry staple ingredients and you have a tasty meal ready in no time.  And very little to clean up afterwards… an added bonus!

The Best Blender for the Job

I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my high-speed Vitamix blender is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This appliance will blend even the toughest of ingredients (frozen fruit, anyone?) into pulp.  I prefer using my blender to my food processor for sauces or homemade hummus, as it’s much easier to clean out the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis, if not twice a day!

Frozen Fruit Recipes For the Win!

I used frozen cranberries and banana in this smoothie instead of fresh. When cranberries are on sale in the fall, I stock up and freeze a few bags to enjoy all year long. By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have frozen fruit to use in smoothies in no time.

How Do I Make This Dairy Free Cranberry Smoothie Recipe?

  1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  2. Blend on low, and increase speed until all fruit/ice chunks are blended and the smoothie is a creamy consistency.
  3. Pour into your favorite glass, sit back, and enjoy!

Dietary Modifications

  • This recipe is vegan and gluten free – if you are adding a protein powder, make sure it keeps with any dietary modifications you require. I like this vegan and gluten free vanilla protein for this smoothie, if I’m adding a powder!

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup whole cranberries (fresh or frozen) or 3/4 cup cranberry juice
  • 1 large orange or two small clementines, peeled
  • 1 large banana frozen
  • 1/2 cup pineapple fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
  • 1.5 cup ice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  • Blend on low, and increase speed until all greens/fruit/ice chunks are blended and the smoothie is a creamy consistency.
