I love a good creamy bean dip, especially one that is loaded with flavor and topped with chili flakes and green onions.  This black bean dip with cream cheese recipe is simple to make (takes about 10 minutes), is perfectly spiced, and a great dip for chips or nachos.

It’s a perfect appetizer to bring to a game day party, for tailgating, or just for a backyard BBQ.  You can also make this a Taco Tuesday recipe and add a scoop of this dip on top of tacos, burritos, or a big plate of nachos.

I stirred leftovers into rice for a delicious creamy and cheesy side dish!

What’s In Cream Cheese Bean Dip?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Cream Cheese – I used a basic cream cheese brick for this recipe that I softened on the counter. Don’t use a whipped or airy cream cheese for this, regular works just fine.
  • Low Sodium Black Beans
  • Salsa: You can use any type of salsa you prefer – mild, medium or spicy!
  • Chili Powder: for a really nice flavor in this dip – the chili powder isn’t spicy but will give you a rich and bright flavor.
  • Cheddar – I used shredded white cheddar.
  • Red Chili Pepper Flakes: for a little heat! if you don’t like spice, you can absolutely skip them in this recipe.
  • Green Onions for Garnish
