This delicious grapefruit avocado salad  is a bright & fresh way to start your day!  Made with avocado, fresh grapefruit, lime juice, and basil, this recipe combines delicious fruits with a vibrant citrus-y flavor.  

This simple salad makes a fantastic breakfast or snack anytime. It’s filling, satisfying, and the perfect way to rise & shine!

If you want avocados for breakfast but want to change it up from avocado toast…. this grapefruit avocado salad is the recipe for you!  It may seem like a strange combination, but diced avocado and grapefruit together really makes an amazing pair and the flavors balance out each other perfectly.

I love this avocado grapefruit salad as a post-work out meal. Its great to eat as a snack after a workout too! Its filling but also sweet and refreshing.  This is one of my new favorite flavor combinations – so when I buy a bag of avocados from the store, I always buy a bag of grapefruits too.

A No-Cook Breakfast Bowl That’s Perfect for Summer

This no-cook grapefruit avocado salad is a quick and simple recipe.  I love a good no-cook recipe for those days when I’m not feeling like standing around the stove, or for summer nights when it’s too hot to cook.

I have a whole collection of recipes that require zero cooking at all, check them out here!  This salad comes together in about 5 minutes, and doesn’t require the stove or microwave to make. Just use a few pantry staple ingredients and you have a tasty meal ready in no time.  And very little to clean up afterwards… an added bonus!

  • Grapefruit – I love a good tart ruby red!
  • Avocado – perfectly ripe, pitted & cubed
  • Lime juice – use fresh if you can
  • Basil – We grow a ton of basil in our garden, so it’s great to add a few leaves for an amazing flavor.

Easy Breakfast Recipes In Less Than 30 Minutes

This grapefruit avocado salad is what I call an Easy Weekday Meal – which is on your table in about 30 minutes.  These quick and simple recipes are perfect for those nights when you want a homecooked meal but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen.

How Do I Make This Grapefruit Avocado Salad?

  1. Halve the avocado and remove the pit carefully.  Take a knife and score the avocado fruit lengthwise and then again crosswise, creating about 1 inch chunks of avocado. Make sure to carefully cut the fruit all the way to the skin without puncturing the skin. Take a spoon and scoop the scored avocado out into a bowl.
  2. Remove skin from the grapefruit (I like to use a paring knife rather than peeling it) and cube the grapefruit into 1 inch chunks.  Mix into bowl with avocado.
  3. Julienne fresh basil, and combine with avocado and grapefruit.
  4. Juice half a lime into the fruit bowl, mix and serve immediately.
