Smoked deviled eggs are an easy and delicious side dish recipe to make in the smoker – high in protein and vegetarian!  These smoked deviled eggs have classic ingredients in the filling, but with an added hint of smoke flavor from 90 minutes smoked at a low temperature.

These deviled eggs in the smoker are great to throw on if you have some extra room or a free rack available. They smoke in 90 minutes and will go quick – you can double or even triple the below recipe for guests.

Our friends gave us an electric smoker for a housewarming gift, and it has been great to smoke amazing things that aren’t meat. We’ve smoked some really fun ingredients like hard boiled eggs, tofu, and even Cheese-Itz (highly recommend!).  All taste amazing, and you can do so much with an electric smoker besides meat.

Our smoker has 4 shelves, so I like to throw in a tray of deviled eggs on if we have extra room. The smoked eggs only take an hour, so they are a great side dish option if you have hungry guests.

What’s In Smoked Deviled Eggs?

See the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Hard-boiled eggs: use easy-peel perfect hardboiled eggs recipe every single time!  Seriously, not a single shell with stick to the eggs!  You can use fresh eggs or ones that are closer to the expiration, and it won’t matter.
  • Yellow Mustard  – while I normally like cooking with whole grain or Dijon mustard, sometimes a good classic yellow mustard is exactly what you need!
  • Classic Mayonnaise: I like to use classic mayo for a delicious and creamy flavor.
  • Sweet Relish – to give this dish a little extra sweetness. I love this classic sweet relish which has a nice crunch and a sweet and tangy flavor.
  • Smoked Paprika: give an additional depth of flavor to this dish.
  • Sea salt and black pepper

How Do You Smoke Deviled Eggs?

  1. Set Smoker: to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Boil & Peel Eggs: I use my my easy-peel method for perfect hardboiled eggs recipe which cooks in 11 minutes. Run the cooked eggs under cold water until they are cool enough to handle, the peel the eggs, discarding the shells.
  3. Make Filling: Halve the eggs, and carefully remove the egg yolks into a medium bowl. Place the eggs whites on to an oven-safe plate (or lasagna pan) which is safe for the smoker. .Place eggs hole-side up, repeat with all eggs. To the yolks, add the mayo, mustard, sweet relish, and pepper – mash well to combine. Taste, and adjust seasoning as needed.  Take 1 tablespoon of yolk filling and place it in the center of each egg.  Repeat until filling is gone. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, and place the plate into the smoker.
  4. Smoke: Place in an electric smoker (or BBQ set at) 275 degrees Fahrenheit, and cook for 1 hour. The eggs will have a nice smoky flavor, but should not be rubbery.
  5. Serve along side any other smoked entrees, dishes from the BBQ, or grilled favorites.
