This peach and cottage cheese bowl recipe is the perfect breakfast when you want something totally decadent but also want it in 5 minutes. This beautiful breakfast takes advantage of fresh honey (as a beekeeper, you better believe we always have a few jars around!), and is loaded on creamy and salty cottage cheese. Layer in some fresh peaches, drizzle some honey on top, add a sprinkle of cinnamon, and breakfast is served.

You can use your favorite brand of store-bought honey, but if you can find local honey from a beekeeper, definitely try it out!  Your local farmers market or  food store will likely carry honey from near by, so support your local beekeepers if you can.

Delicious Breakfasts with Fresh, Frozen, or Canned Peaches

You can use fresh, frozen, or canned peaches for this recipe – either would work well!  I used fresh, because it’s summer and we are getting amazing stone fruit right now. Frozen peaches are a great option too – you can thaw them overnight in the fridge, or just run then under some hot water so they are soft enough to slice.

If using canned peaches, try to get ones packed in juice (and not heavy syrup). The heavy syrup can make this breakfast a little too sweet – so if you do have syrup peaches, rinse them under cool water and dry before adding to this recipe.

What’s In This Cottage Cheese and Peaches Bowl?

See the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Cottage Cheese – you can use non-fat, 2%, or 4% cottage cheese, whatever you prefer!
  • Peaches – I used fresh, but see the note above to use canned or frozen.
  • Honey: We use our own honey, straight out of the beehives for us!  As beekeepers, we have plenty of raw honey so I try to use it in all my recipes instead of sugar.  I’d recommend trying a local farmers market to find the best raw honey in your area. Or else, raw organic honey is the next best thing.
  • Cinnamon: which gives this spread a subtle spice-y flavor!  I love to add in a pinch for extra warmth.

An Easy Breakfast With Cottage Cheese To Enjoy Every Morning

This cottage cheese and peach bowl recipe is a fantastic way to start your day on the right foot!  While cottage cheese is sometimes consumed for breakfast, this recipe makes it easy to get your protein in first thing in the morning.

I add plenty of  fresh honey to sweeten this breakfast naturally. Only good-for-you whole ingredients go into this dish, making it a great way to rise & shine!

Is There an Alternative to Honey?

Yes, you can substitute out the honey in this recipe for agave nectar or maple syrup. Agave has a similar texture and consistency to honey, while maple syrup is slightly runnier.

How Do You Make This Sweet Cottage Cheese Recipe?

  1. In a small bowl or ramekin, add half of the cottage cheese.
  2. Layer in the diced peaches, then top with the remaining half of cottage cheese.
  3. Top with sliced peaches for garnish.
  4. Add a extra drizzle of honey and cinnamon on top, and enjoy!

      Hi Bonnie,
I like to stir it into the bottom layer of cottage cheese for a nice sweet & tangy flavor. I find it pairs nicely with the peaches. But totally optional to add it if you don’t have lemon on hand.
