Ingredient You’ll Need

ingredients for deviled eggs with cottage cheese like hardboiled eggs, sweet relish, mustard, and paprika as a garnish.
  • Hard-boiled eggs: use my easy-peel method for perfect hardboiled eggs every single time!  Seriously, not a single shell with stick to the eggs!  You can use fresh eggs or ones that are closer to the expiration, and it won’t matter.
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Whole Grain or Dijon Mustard
  • Sweet Relish – to give this dish a little extra sweetness. I love this classic sweet relish which has a nice crunch and a sweet and tangy flavor.
  • Paprika – to garnish – for a hint of spice and great flavor!

Recipe FAQs

Can you use cottage cheese in deviled eggs?

Absolutely! Cottage cheese is a great choice, and adds extra protein and creaminess to the filling replacing mayonnaise or other fats typically used. Using low or non-fat cottage cheese is a good alternative for those looking to lower fat or calories.

What type of cottage cheese is best in deviled eggs?

You can use any type of cottage cheese you prefer, but I like using a small curd or whipped cottage cheese for a smooth texture. For a low fat option, you can use reduced fat or non-fat cottage cheese too.

Can I make these deviled eggs ahead?

Yes, you can prepare the eggs and the filling ahead of time and store them separately. Assemble the eggs right before serving to keep them fresh.
