After making my delicious vegan copycat In-N-Out sauce the other week, I had to recreate the full vegan In-N-Out Burger experience with a delicious burger on the grill. Going to In-N-Out was such a treat when I lived in California, I loved getting a Double Double and animal style fries!

I tried to make this burger a double, but honestly I used some thick plant-based patties (which are HUGE!) and I couldn’t fit 2 patties on one bun!  You can definitely make this vegan burger a double by using smaller patties.

This Vegan In-N-Out Burger Recipe Is:

What’s In This Vegan In and Out Burger Recipe?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Veggie Burger patties – I like using Meatless Farm patties which are thick, hearty, high protein, and 100% plant based. They are made with whole clean ingredients and they have a really fantastic flavor. I grilled these up (just like real meat!) and they were so delicious on this burger.
  • Gluten Free Burger Buns- You can use gluten free buns for a wheat-free version!
  • Tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Pickles – I used my fresh garlic pickles without dill recipe… SO good!
  • Onion
  • Vegan In N Out Special Sauce –   The full recipe for my vegan In and Out Sauce is ready in 5 minutes and made in the blender.  This sauce is SO flavorful and a close copycat of the restaurant variety.

How Do I Make In N Out Burgers Vegan?

  1. Grill the Patties –  Follow the directions on your meatless burger patty and cook burgers to perfection – we grilled ours. I used Meatless Farm burgers which were SO good! Other brands should have cooking times/methods on the packaging.
  2. Prep the Sauce – Add all sauce ingredients to a blender, and blend for 1-2 minutes on high. Full recipe for the vegan In N Out sauce has only plant-based ingredients.
  3. Toast the Buns – add the buns to the grill for 1-2 minutes just before serving to give them a crisp and toasted texture.
  4. Assemble the Burger – to your toasted bun, add one patty (or two for a Double Double!), lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and load on the sauce. Enjoy!
