This oatmeal with flaxseed is a morning meal we enjoy on repeat on our homestead!  With all the amazing benefits of flax seeds,  we try to add a scoop to everything we can. It’s great in oats, baked goods, and even in smoothies for a boost.

Adding flaxseeds to oatmeal couldn’t be easier – you can make your own oatmeal or use a packet of Instant Oatmeal (no shame for an easy button!).  I love that this recipe is a simple and delicious way to add extra fiber to breakfast.

What’s In This Flax Seed Oatmeal Recipe?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Instant Oatmeal – you can use pre-made oatmeal, or quick oats. I like instant oatmeal as it’s organic, sustainably sourced, and tastes fantastic.
  • Ground Flaxseeds: I always add a scoop in my oatmeal for a little extra nutritional punch!  This flaxseed meal has a wonderful nutty flavor too.
  • Cinnamon: which gives this dish a subtle spice-y flavor!  I love to add in a pinch for extra warmth and depth of flavor.
  • Water or Almond Milk – plain and unsweetened!  The higher the fat content, the creamier the milk will be.
  • Walnuts: because I love adding crunchy ingredients to my oatmeal when I can.
