Our garden cucumbers are always super productive all summer long – thanks to my husbands green thumb and our bees (love my pollinators)! This cucumber salad is a fantastic way to use up those garden cucumbers, and can be made with your favorite brand of plain Greek yogurt.
This creamy cucumber salad with Greek yogurt has been made time & time again in our household. I make it for summer cookouts when friends are over, or just as a weeknight recipe when I have extra cucumbers. The combination of the mayo, dill, cucumber, and onion is classic. It’s a great light tasting salad to serve with heavier fare.

Grow Fresh Dill on Your Counter All Year Long
We got this great 6-Pod Aerogarden which is fantastic for growing herbs in the winter. We actually got it when we lived in a smaller apartment, but even now that we own an acreage we still use it year-round! I love growing herbs on my countertop like fresh basil, dill, mint, sage, thyme, parsley, and lemon balm. It uses LED lights and water, so no messy soil needed – you can have fresh herbs at your fingertips any time. I love picking a few springs of parsley to chop on pastas, adding basil leaves to soups, and tossing some dill in with my pasta salads. This Aerogarden is a great gift for anyone who would like fresh herbs… no big kitchen or green thumb required!
What’s In This Creamy Cucumber Tzatziki Salad?
- Cucumbers, Onion, Fresh Dill – I get all the fresh produce for my recipes from my garden and from Misfits Market – they sell all organic produce at a super discounted price, and it’s purchased direct from the farmers. We get Misfit Market boxes every other week and love picking out our favorite seasonal produce for delivery. You can get $10 off your first $30 box by clicking here!
If you think organic produce is too expensive… think again, and give Misfits Market a look!
- Greek Yogurt – make sure it’s plain and unsweetened! You can use a fat free Greek yogurt like this one (it’s our favorite!) or a full fat yogurt too. Make sure you get Greek yogurt and not plain yogurt, the thickness really makes this dish fantastic!
- Tellicherry Peppercorns: Like the salt, it’s amazing the flavor difference you can get with really good tellicherry black pepper. Amazon has a generic brand tellicherry peppercorn which is the same price is buying pre-ground, and has a million times more flavor… so I use these really great tellicherry peppercorns, which I would definitely recommend.
- Rice vinegar: I love this sweet & tangy rice vinegar, I always keep this seasoned vinegar stocked in my pantry for dressings and salads.
- Onion Powder: adds a delicious and savory flavor to this dish as well, and the onion powder pairs nicely with the raw onion in the salad.
- Granulated Sugar: I like this organic sugar for my recipes, I’d recommend Anthony’s organic sugar for cooking and baking.
