These soft pull-apart dessert bars are traditional rice krispie treats recipe with added s’mores ingredients: marshmallows, chocolate chips, and bits of crushed graham crackers. They are the perfect sweet anytime – and they are simple to make – a great rainy day baking recipe for kids! This is a great recipe for leftover chocolate chips – I always seem to have half a bag in the pantry, and these were so delicious! A great party dessert that is made with just a few pantry staple ingredients.

What’s In This S’mores Rice Krispies Recipe?
- Rice Cereal: I like this organic brand of crispy rice cereal for my treats to keep it real – it makes me feel going knowing there is some good stuff in these bars – and the texture is amazing!
- Mini Marshmallows – I like to use these classic mini marshmallows to keep these treats extra fluffy and delicious. You can also use these marshmallows which are vegan and gluten free, if desired.
- Vanilla Extract: it’s super important to use real pure vanilla extract, and not artificial baking vanilla flavor. This real all natural vanilla is a fantastic ingredient to give these rice bars an #extra boost.
- Graham Crackers – I used these cinnamon sugar grahams that I got online which gave these treat bars a little extra hint of flavor!
- Milk Chocolate Chips – I like to use Hershey’s milk chocolate chips (just like classic s’mores!) for that authentic vibe. These little milk chocolate kisses are perfect mixed into this dessert.
Easy Make Ahead Dessert Recipes
These campfire rice krispie treats are a fantastic and simple recipe to make ahead. How Do I Make Rice Krispie Treats with S’Mores?

Line a large 9×9 glass baking dish with parchment paper, set aside. Also set aside about 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows, these will be used later in the recipe.
- Crush graham crackers in a separate bowl.

In a large pot, add the butter and remainder of the marshmallows on low heat. Stir for about 5-10 minutes until the ingredients have completely melted together.

Add the vanilla extract to the marshmallow mixture and stir well to combine.

Add the rice cereal, the crushed graham crackers, half of the chocolate chips, and the extra 1/2 cup of marshmallows to the pot and mix well.

Pour the rice cereal mixture into the baking dish – and gently press the rice cereal down. Make sure to not pack down too hard, as the looser they are placed in the baking dish the softer the treats will be.

Sprinkle the top with the last half of the chocolate chips and extra graham crackers and marshmallows if desired. Wait for 30 minutes to cool, then cut, serve and enjoy!
