What’s The Difference Between a Nectarine and Peach
While peaches and nectarines are genetically similar, peaches have fuzzy skin while nectarines do not, and have a smooth skin. They have a similar taste, as well as similar amounts of sugar, fiber, and nutrients – but the skin texture differs between the two.
Both peaches and nectarines are high in Vitamins A & C and fiber, making them a great fruit to enjoy, especially in this salsa. Plus they taste wonderful in both sweet and savory dishes. If you can find fresh ripe peaches or nectarines, enjoy them both!

The Best Blender for Frozen Fruit Smoothies
I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my high speed blender is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This high-speed blender will blend even the toughest of ingredients (like seeds, frozen fruit, and ice) into pulp.
I prefer using my blender for recipes like this, as it’s much easier to clean. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis!
How Do I Make A Nectarine Smoothie?
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender, including the fruit, water, and ice.
- Start the blender on low speed and work your way up to high speed and blend for 2 minutes.
- Pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy!
Make This Tropical Smoothie Dairy Free for a Healthy Version
This dairy free nectarine smoothie recipe is a fantastic breakfast without milk or yogurt. I’m all about making recipes plant-based and dairy free when I can. Dairy-free cooking does NOT have to be bland, boring, or flavorless… It’s quite the opposite when done right. You can achieve total richness and creaminess with some simple swaps.
By building meals around vegan pantry staples and swapping in a few plant-based ingredients you can make healthier meals for you and your family. I made a list of my 125 favorite vegan pantry ingredients that we use on a weekly basis, and check out all my plant based recipes here that are on The Herbeevore. These easy and healthy recipes are fantastic meatless and dairy free meals for your table.
Frozen Fruit Smoothies For the Win!
I used some frozen fruit for this recipe instead of fresh. I usually buy frozen mango, frozen peaches, and fresh bananas in bulk, and peel and freeze them before they get too brown, and they are great for smoothies like this! By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have amazing smoothies every day with ingredients I have on hand.
