When nectarines are in season, this is no better way to enjoy them then in a delicious and perfectly sweet smoothie. You can use fresh or frozen nectarines for this recipe, either would be delicious. I happened to get a big box of them recently, and have been making some great recipes – including this smoothie.

This smoothie is naturally sweet & thick (no added dairy or sugar), and is made with great fruits like banana, mango, and orange.  My husband and I both gave this one a 10/10, it made the perfect breakfast.

What’s The Difference Between a Nectarine and Peach

While peaches and nectarines are genetically similar, peaches have fuzzy skin while nectarines do not, and have a smooth skin. They have a similar taste, as well as similar amounts of sugar, fiber, and nutrients â€“ but the skin texture differs between the two.

Both peaches and nectarines contain Vitamins A & C and fiber, making them a great fruit to enjoy, especially in this salsa. Plus they taste wonderful in both sweet and savory dishes. If you can find fresh ripe peaches or nectarines, enjoy them both!

Blenders for Frozen Fruit

I recommend using a good-quality high speed blender for this recipe. I have a fantastic Vitamix blender, which I have been using for years, and it gets daily use in our home.

Choose a blender that has a lot of power, and can pulverize even the toughest of ingredients. My blender can chop ice, dates, frozen fruits, make soups, and even blend nuts into homemade nut butter. Using a good high-speed blender will make perfectly creamy smoothies and sauces every time!

How Do I Make A Nectarine Smoothie?

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender, including the fruit, water, and ice.
  2. Start the blender on low speed and work your way up to high speed and blend for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy!

Frozen Fruit Smoothies For the Win!

I used some frozen fruit for this recipe instead of fresh. I usually buy frozen mango, frozen peaches, and fresh bananas in bulk, and peel and freeze them before they get too brown, and they are great for smoothies like this! By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have amazing smoothies every day with ingredients I have on hand.
