Instant Pot for Easy Weeknight Pasta Recipes!

Of all my kitchen appliances, and I mean ALL of them, my Instant Pot pressure cooker is my most-used! I cook everything in it from beans and legumes, to soups and pasta dishes.

You can get Instant Pots in many sizes, but I like my 8-quart model, which is ideal for batch cooking and meal prep. It also has a quicker pressure-release feature which saves me even more cooking time.

I love that everything can cook in one pot, which makes for way less dishes and hands-off cooking. The Instant Pot is hands-down my favorite kitchen appliance, and actually makes my life so much easier.

What’s In Garlic Honey Noodles?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Garlic – for tasty garlic flavor in each bite!
  • Onion
  • Noodles – I used linguine noodles which have a great texture and hold up well in the Instant Pot. You could also use any type of noodles you prefer: spaghetti noodles for a thinner noodle, or fettuccine noodles for a thicker broader noodle.
  • Raw Honey: You could substitute agave nectar or maple syrup as well.
  • Sesame Oil: The sesame oil gives the perfect toasty flavor to the sauce of this pasta. Toasted sesame oil is traditional in a lot of Asian dishes, and will give your noodles the perfect flavor.
  • Rice vinegar
  • Tamari: tamari is a gluten-free version of soy sauce. Tamari has a bright salty flavor, and adds a really nice depth of umami to this dish.
  • Ginger
  • Sriracha
  • Green Onion
  • Sesame Seeds – I love adding a handful of white sesame seeds to finish off this recipe! These seeds add a nice crunch and light flavor to the noodles.

How Do I Make Instant Pot Asian Garlic Noodles?

  1. Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Add the olive oil, garlic, and onion, and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until the Vegetables have begun to soften. Turn off sauté mode.
  2. In a jar with an airtight lid, combine the sauce ingredients: honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ground ginger, and optional Sriracha. Seal with lid and shake well to combine.
  3. Add the sauce and 1 cup of water to the instant pot. Then add the noodles. Finally, add the remaining 1.5 cups water over the noodles, but do not stir.
  4. Place the lid on the instant pot and seal to close. Pressure cook on Manual or High Pressure mode for 5 minutes. Then allow the noodles to natural pressure release for 4 minutes. Quick release the remaining pressure until the float valve on the lid goes down, then stir. Place lid back on the instant pot and allow noodles to sit for 5 minutes to absorb the remaining sauce.
  5. Serve and add chopped green onions and a sprinkle of Sesame seeds in top.
