These wild huckleberry waffles recipe is a fantastic pantry-staple meal!  It uses almost all ingredients you would have in your dry pantry or cupboards – most of which you probably have on hand. How Do I Make This Fresh Huckleberry Waffle Recipe?

  1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix all waffle batter ingredients together in a large batter bowl.
  3. When your Belgian Waffle maker is ready, scoop the approved amount of batter into the maker, and close the lid carefully. Your waffle maker instructions should say exactly how much batter to use.
  4. Once waffle has finished cooking, place it on a sheet pan in the oven to keep it warm. Repeat steps until the batter is gone.
  5. Serve waffles with powdered sugar, berry compote, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of maple syrup.  Rise & SHINE!

What Can You Do With Huckleberries?

Turn them into jam or waffles of course!  Since huckleberries are closely related to blueberries, you can use the same amount of huckleberries in recipes as you would blueberries. You can add them to pancakes, muffins, pies, buckle, or any breakfast or dessert that calls for blueberries.
