Weekend benedicts are a favorite on our homestead, and this tofu hollandaise sauce is the absolute perfect topper! I made my delicious chickpea hollandaise sauce a while back, and wanted to recreate the magic with some silken tofu too. The result? A bright and lemony sauce that goes so well with savory breakfast benedicts or veggies. We enjoyed this hollandaise sauce over savory cornbread waffles with some fresh tomato from the garden and WOW, it stole the show.

The Best Vegan Blender Hollandaise Sauce Recipe
The thing I love most about this easy vegan hollandaise sauce is that I can make the entire recipe in the blender. I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my Vitamix is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This high-speed blender will blend even the toughest of ingredients into pulp. I prefer using my blender to my food processor for sauces like this or homemade hummus, as it’s much easier to clean the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis!
What’s In Vegan Hollandaise Sauce?
- Shelf Stable Tofu – I have been LOVING these shelf-stable tofu packs from Amazon. I literally have 3 cases of them in my pantry as we speak. They are an inexpensive and healthy way to get some plant protein in. The texture of this extra firm tofu is perfect for this recipe, no pressing required!
- Lemon Juice: Use fresh lemons if you have it, or this really great bottled lemon that you can keep in your pantry if you don’t have fresh lemons. This organic lemon is great for dressings, dips, and even cocktails – and it tastes fresh, which is great to have around if you don’t use lemon juice everyday but still want to keep some around.
- Olive Oil: I like to use this fruity Zoe olive oil which has a fantastic flavor and deep color- it’s really inexpensive online here, so I keep a few liters stocked up in my pantry. For the quality of oil you get, it’s an excellent value, I would highly recommend!
- Garlic
- Mustard Powder: I love adding this mustard powder to any ‘cheesy’ type dish – it adds a nice sharpness and bright yellow color.
- Turmeric – a staple in our spice cabinet! Aside from all the wonderful health benefits of turmeric (hello anti-inflammation!), the flavor is fantastic. I try to add a teaspoon of turmeric into soups, stews, and rice dishes too.
- Tellicherry Peppercorns: Like the salt, it’s amazing the flavor difference you can get with really good tellicherry black pepper. Amazon has a generic brand tellicherry peppercorn which is the same price is buying pre-ground, and has a million times more flavor… so I use these really great tellicherry peppercorns, which I would definitely recommend.Â
- Smoked Paprika: give an additional depth of flavor & a beautiful red color to this dish.
