What’s In This Garlic Honey Tofu Recipe?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Tofu – I used an extra firm tofu for this recipe.
  • Raw Honey: or normal honey, whatever you have on hand. We only use raw honey, because that’s how we keep the honey from our beehives.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: for that unbelievably rich umami flavor, but make sure you use a vegan variety if you don’t eat meat (some can contain anchovies).
  • Garlic Powder: A great way to add a lot of flavor with just a small amount of spice!  This garlic powder is a fantastic addition to this tofu and really bakes the flavor in.
  • Onion Powder: a light sweet spice which adds a really nice depth of flavor to this dish!
  • Sea Salt & Black Pepper
  • Corn Starch: just enough to coat the tofu and help it crisp in the oven. This is the secret ingredient to irresistibly crunchy baked tofu.

Is There a Vegan Alternative to Honey?

Yes, you can substitute out the honey in this recipe for agave nectar or maple syrup. I prefer agave nectar, it’s my go-to kitchen sweetener because it’s absolutely delicious, and buying organic agave is inexpensive (compared to other organic sweeteners).  It also bakes well, so I like to add it to my baked goods.
