Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!
- Avocado, Parsley, Garlic
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Herbes de Provence: my favorite spice blend! This French blend has a mix of rosemary, thyme, sage, and savory for a wonderful and complex flavor.
- Red Chili Pepper Flakes: for a little heat! I like to add a few shakes to this recipe to give this dish a nice complex depth of flavor.
- Bread
- Raw Honey: I’d recommend trying a local farmers market to find the best raw honey in your area.
- Fresh lemon juice
Is There a Vegan Alternative to Honey?
Yes, you can substitute out the honey in this recipe for agave nectar or maple syrup. I prefer agave nectar, it’s my go-to kitchen sweetener because it’s absolutely delicious, and buying organic agave is inexpensive (compared to other organic sweeteners). It also bakes well, so I like to add it to my baked goods.
How Do I Make This Avocado Toast with Honey Recipe?
- Place slices of bread on a sheet pan, and place in the oven. Broil the bread over low heat until it is crispy and toasted on each side (my oven is about 2-3 minutes each side). Always watch the bread as your broil it so it doesn’t burn. Peel the clove of garlic, and rub it on the surface of the toast… the garlic will begin to disintegrate and leave delicious flavor on your bread.
- In a large bowl, mash the avocado, lemon juice, garlic powder, Herbs de Provence, and chili flakes.
- Top each slice of oven-toasted bread with half the avocado mixture, and drizzle each slice with olive oil, honey, and fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!
