This plant based In N Out sauce is what I call an Easy Weeknight Recipe – which is on your table in under 30 minutes. These quick and simple recipes are perfect for those nights when you want a healthy homecooked meal but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. I have a whole section of The Herbeevore dedicated to Easy Weeknight Meals, that are great for the whole family. What’s In This Dairy Free In-N-Out Sauce without Mayo?
- Shelf Stable Tofu – I have been LOVING these shelf-stable tofu packs from Amazon. I literally have 3 cases of them in my pantry as we speak. They are an inexpensive and healthy way to get some plant protein in. The texture of this extra firm tofu is perfect for this recipe, no pressing required!
- Ketchup – I like this Annie’s Organic Ketchup for a healthier option with really great flavor!
- Dill Relish – a great dill relish is perfect in this sauce, sweet relish makes this a little too sweet (trust me, I tried it!). So make sure you use dill relish and not one with loads of sugar or sweeteners.
- Yellow Mustard
- Apple Cider Vinegar, which gives this dressing a little extra tang which is really fantastic! I love using this organic apple cider vinegar with the mother which has a great flavor. I think it gives a nice extra sweetness and depth.
- Olive Oil: I like to use this fruity Zoe olive oil which has a fantastic flavor and deep color- it’s really inexpensive online here, so I keep a few liters stocked up in my pantry. For the quality of oil you get, it’s an excellent value, I would highly recommend!
- Agave Syrup: I really like using this raw organic agave syrup because it’s a natural and sustainable sweetener, plus it is ridiculously inexpensive online so I always keep a few of these bottles in my pantry
- Tellicherry Peppercorns: Like the salt, it’s amazing the flavor difference you can get with really good tellicherry black pepper. Amazon has a generic brand tellicherry peppercorn which is the same price is buying pre-ground, and has a million times more flavor… so I use these really great tellicherry peppercorns, which I would definitely recommend.
Note: I made this sauce out of this great silken tofu – BUT I realize tofu isn’t everyone’s jam… so you can substitute the same amount of mayo instead if you don’t like tofu (also skip the olive oil if you use mayo). But give tofu a try, I promise you will be amazed! It’s low in fat, low in calories, and high in protein… and tastes SO good with the rest of the flavors of this dish.
The Best Blender In N Out Sauce Recipe
The thing I love most about this easy vegan hollandaise sauce is that I can make the entire recipe in the blender. I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my Vitamix is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This high-speed blender will blend even the toughest of ingredients into pulp. I prefer using my blender to my food processor for sauces like this or homemade hummus, as it’s much easier to clean the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis!
How Do I Make In-N-Out Sauce Vegan?
- Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend on low and gradually work up to high speed until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
- Add this sauce on top of burgers with grilled onions, loaded fries, or in between a grilled cheese sandwich. Enjoy!
