What’s In This Garlic Honey Tofu Recipe?
Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!
- Tofu – I used an extra firm tofu for this recipe.
- Raw Honey: or normal honey, whatever you have on hand. We only use raw honey, because that’s how we keep the honey from our beehives.
- Worcestershire Sauce: for that unbelievably rich umami flavor, but make sure you use a vegan variety if you don’t eat meat (some can contain anchovies).
- Garlic Powder: A great way to add a lot of flavor with just a small amount of spice! This garlic powder is a fantastic addition to this tofu and really bakes the flavor in.
- Onion Powder: a light sweet spice which adds a really nice depth of flavor to this dish!
- Sea Salt & Black Pepper
- Corn Starch: just enough to coat the tofu and help it crisp in the oven. This is the secret ingredient to irresistibly crunchy baked tofu.
Is There a Vegan Alternative to Honey?
Yes, you can substitute out the honey in this recipe for agave nectar or maple syrup. I prefer agave nectar, it’s my go-to kitchen sweetener because it’s absolutely delicious, and buying organic agave is inexpensive (compared to other organic sweeteners). It also bakes well, so I like to add it to my baked goods.
How Do I Find Good Honey?
This is one of my favorite raw honey recipes! You can browse all of my honey recipes here on my site. As a beekeeper, I love trying out new favorite honey recipes. Nothing is sweeter than using your own honey. If you’re looking to buy honey I’d recommend searching for local beekeeper in your area. That way you can have delicious local honey and also support an apiary… get it from the source.
