Jump to RecipeI’ve been loving coconut water lately! It naturally is a great way to get minerals like potassium, sodium, and manganese naturally! Plus, it tastes amazing. I use it to make coconut water lemonade, but decided to create a fantastic cocktail for the weekend.
This fun and sweet margarita is a great way to enjoy coconut water in a cocktail. The coconut water is naturally sweet, so this recipe is made with this and sweet & sour mix, no simple syrup needed.

What’s In This Margarita with Coconut Water?
- Coconut Water – I absolutely love the flavor of coconut water! It’s great in this margarita, or even just by itself.
- Tequila! I used reposado, but use whatever kind you prefer.
- Sweet & Sour Mix – which I used to add a kick to this cocktail.
- Lime Juice, preferably freshly squeezed
- Ice
- Margarita Salt… because salt, lime, tequila is a classic combo!
And of course, cactus margarita glasses, because they are SO fun. Always.

- Add ice to the glass, and pour the margarita into your salt-rimmed glass, garnish with a slice of lime. Enjoy!
The Best Blender for Margaritas
You can make this margarita on the rocks, or blended and frozen!
I recommend using a good-quality high speed blender for this recipe. I have a fantastic Vitamix blender, which I have been using for years, and it gets daily use in our home.
Choose a blender that has a lot of power, and can pulverize even the toughest of ingredients. My blender can chop ice, dates, frozen fruits, make soups, and even blend nuts into homemade nut butter. Using a good high-speed blender will make perfectly creamy smoothies and sauces every time!
