This tuna salad with Greek yogurt recipe is a healthy high protein lunch recipe – serve as a salad or in a sandwich or wrap! It’s light, crunchy, and flavorful made with canned tuna, chopped celery, spices, and a creamy Greek yogurt dressing.
This high protein tuna salad makes a great lunch time sandwich that is ready in just 5 minutes! It’s work-from-home friendly, and a great recipe to make when you are short on time.
Tuna salad has been a favorite of mine from when I was young – I loved whipping up a batch to eat with crackers! I used to eat canned tuna mixed with sweet relish and mayo, but I wanted to make a healthier grown-up version of this classic recipe.
By adding the Greek yogurt, you get a high protein tuna salad that tastes amazing. The Greek yogurt replaces mayonnaise in this dish, and gives the tuna salad a creamy and tangy flavor.

What’s Traditional Tuna Salad Made With?
Tuna salad is traditionally made with mayonnaise, which gives it a creamy, tangy texture. This recipe substitutes the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt, which gives the tuna salad a similar flavor but with less fat.
You can use non-fat Greek yogurt, 2% or even 4% in this recipe depending on your preferences. Either way, the Greek yogurt makes a really great substitute for mayo!
A No-Cook Canned Tuna Recipe That’s Perfect Any Time

- Canned Tuna – I like using a no-salt-added tuna, which really helps to bring out the flavor of the fish.
- Celery
- Greek Yogurt – make sure it’s plain and unsweetened! You can use a fat free Greek yogurt like this one (it’s our favorite!) or a full fat yogurt too. Make sure you get Greek yogurt and not plain yogurt, the thickness really makes this dish fantastic!
- Sweet Relish – to give this dish a little extra sweetness. I love this classic sweet relish which has a nice crunch and a sweet and tangy flavor.
- Whole Grain Mustard – for a really nice flavor and texture. Using a really good mustard makes all the difference, so don’t use the basic yellow stuff for this recipe.
- Onion Powder: adds a delicious and savory flavor to this dish as well, and the onion powder pairs nicely with the tuna.
Is Tuna Salad Sweet or Savory?
This recipe is a little bit of both! I like using sweet relish to give the salad a tangy kick.
You can make this recipe with dill pickles or dill relish instead for a more savory bite. I find the sweet relish adds a nice complexity to this dish, so I recommend you give it a try.
