What’s In This Retro Stuffed Celery Recipe?

Be sure to visit the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Celery – I like using organic celery, and I usually buy a big head and chop up the individual stalks myself.
  • Cream Cheese – I use a regular cream cheese, not whipped.
  • Chili Sauce – the secret ingredient in my family’s stuffed celery recipe!  You can usually find chili sauce near the ketchup or the cocktail sauce in the grocery store. I’ve also ordered it online when I can’t find it at the store – I like using chili sauce.
  • Onion – for a little extra flavor in the spread.
  • Walnuts

How Do I Make Stuffed Celery with Cream Cheese?

  1. Remove cream cheese from the refrigerator, and place on the counter for at least 1 hour until it comes to room temperature and is soft.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, chili sauce, and grated onion. Mix well to combine.
  3. Chop the celery stalks into large 4-inch pieces. Lay them on a plate.
  4. Take each celery, and using a spoon, fill with the cream cheese mixture. Repeat until all celery stalks are filled.
  5. Place walnuts in a plastic baggie, and remove the air. Seal the bag. Take a rolling pin, and crush the walnuts inside of the bag. Sprinkle the crushed walnuts on top of the celery sticks.
