plum juicer recipe with apples and lime for a bright and tasty fresh juice recipe

We recently got a fantastic new juicer, and I’ve been so happy making fresh delicious juice almost every day with it! Juicing is a great way to start the morning for us, and get some nutrients in first thing.

While most people are more familiar with dried plum juice (aka prune juice), I found juicing fresh plums with other large juicy fruits makes the perfect morning drink. It takes just 5 minutes to make (and our easy-clean juicer takes just 2 minutes to clean!) and we can have a tall glass of fresh juice in no time.

Why This Recipe Works

  • It’s bright, flavorful, and so yummy!
  • A great recipe for when plums are in season.
  • The fruits in this recipe make a sweet and tangy flavor combo.
  • It’s ready in minutes.
  • Juicing can be a great way to start your day!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Plums – I got some really great plums from our Misfits Market box recently, and they are just perfect for juicing. You can use any plums variety you have on hand, but I like ones with a deep purple peel and sweet yellow flesh.
  • Apples – any variety also works, but I used honeycrisp! The sweeter the apple, the sweeter the juice. So steer clear of tart apples like Granny Smith if you want a sweet juice.
  • Lime – for a kick! I added the juice of 1 lime in this recipe to make the flavors pop. I love fresh citrus in the morning, and the lime pairs really well with the plums.

Variations

If you want to make this with straight plum juice and nothing else – go for it!

Any apple or plum variety can be used for this recipe, I am a huge fan of using what you have on hand. If you want to add in other fruits, you can get creative as well. Oranges, blueberries, or peaches would be great additions!

If you don’t have fresh lime, you can use a lemon, or omit it altogether.

The Best Juicer

We thoroughly researched juicers before we got ours, and let me tell you – this juicer can handle almost anything! Plums, limes, apples, veggies… anything can be juiced in minites.

For the best fruit juice, I love using my easy clean slow juicer, which gets each delicious drop out of the fruit. It’s great for most fruits and larger peeled citrus!

If your looking for a great juicer, it’s quiet, simple to clean, and an excellent tool we use almost daily.
