This lemonade gin fizz with blueberries is a delicious and refreshing summer cocktail recipe! The best drink for entertaining guests, especially when fresh blueberries are in season (but you can use frozen too).

Made with fresh blueberries, this drink packs some bright flavors in a little glass.  Serve over ice for that perfect refresher.

I love a good summer cocktail, especially one bursting with fresh fruit. I wanted to make this recipe as a play off a gin fizz – with blueberries instead of sloe gin and fresh lemon and club soda for a refreshing texture.

Start by mudding blueberries, mixing them with gin and lemon, and topping it with a club soda floater. You can even get adventurous and steep your gin with blueberries and lemon peel for a few hours before serving, for extra flavor.

This Lemonade Gin Fizz Is:

  • Bright
  • Bubbly
  • Refreshing
  • Made with fresh berries
  • Sweet
  • Tart
  • A great summer cocktail!

How To Make This Recipe

  1. To a glass, add the blueberries and smash them against the side of the glass with a spoon. You could also use a mortar and pestle, but I find a spoon works well!
  2. Add the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and stir well.
  3. Top with the seltzer and serve with a lemon garnish!

Recipe FAQs

Can I use frozen blueberries for this cocktail?

Absolutely! Just thaw them out (or run them under hot water for a few minutes) until they are soft enough to muddle or crush with a spoon.

Can you use store-bought lemonade instead of fresh lemons?

Yes, you can – it’ll likely be sweeter, so make sure to mix the cocktail without the simply syrup first (or else it could be too sweet).

Can I make this recipe with other liquors?

You sure can – vodka or a light rum would be great alternatives in this cocktail.

Expert Tips

  • Larger blueberries work particularly well in this cocktail – the bigger they are, the easier they are to mash down into the cocktail.
  • Instead of regular simple syrup, you can use a flavored syrup like our favorite homemade Rose’s lime juice!
  • Skip the gin and make it a mocktail.
