White Wine Pasta Sauce with Garlic & Herbs

This garlic & white wine pasta sauce is bright, flavorful, and absolutely divine! Made with pantry staple ingredients for a simple pasta anytime. Can easily be made gluten free and vegan too - so its perfect for anyone at your table.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter use plant-based for vegan version
  • 1 sweet onion finely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour or corn starch if gluten free
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese or alternative like nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a large sauce pan, heat the olive oil and butter over low heat. Add the onions and garlic and gently sauté for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the flour and stir into the veggie mixture with a wooden spoon.
  • Add the white wine, and stir. Bring to a simmer and gently simmer for 3 or 4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken. Remove from heat and add the salt, parmesan, parsley, and ground tellicherry pepper. Stir until the parmesan has melted into the sauce.
  • Garnish with extra parmesan, parsley, or black pepper. Serve with pasta of choice, sauce makes enough for about 1 lb of pasta.
