Vegan Croutons with Garlic and Herbs

These vegan croutons are so simple and loaded with flavor! Great on salads, soups, or just eaten by the handful (no judgement)! A healthy vegan crouton recipe that's oven baked in your favorite spices.

  • Set the oven broiler to low. Place a baking rack is the center if the oven.
  • Cube the bread into small 1/2 inch cubes, add to a large mixing bowl.
  • To the bowl, add the olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix well until bread is coated in oil and spices, and place the bread in an even layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack in the oven.
  • Bake over low broiler for about 5 minutes, then flip and broil for another 5 minutes on the other side. Depending on the heat of your broiler it may take less (or more) time so pay close attention when the croutons are in the oven so they do not burn.
  • Once the croutons turn a golden brown, remove from oven and allow to cool. Top on soups or salads... Or just eat a handful as a snack.  Yep, they are that good!

I always make croutons with my 4 ingredient no-knead vegan bread recipe (just flour, water, salt, and yeast!) - dairy free and egg free!
