Lemon and Chia Water

This Lemon and Chia Seed Water recipe will help you refresh and hydrate - AND has 4g fiber and 2g protein per serving, plus good-for-you omega 3 acids!  This is a fantastic drink to enjoy before a meal, and tastes great.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 cups water either warm or cold
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup optional

Instructions
 

  • In a mason jar or large glass add the chia seeds, water, and agave if using. Squeeze lemon slices in the drink, and add the peels to the jar to steep.
  • Stir once a minute for 5 minutes until the chia seeds have plumped.
  • Discard the lemon peels (we compost them), and enjoy!
