These chocolate oat balls are a rich and tasty snack, made with rolled oats, pure maple suryp, peanut butter, and cocoa powder for a naturally sweet and delicious treat! They are great before or after a workout, and are ready in just 15 minutes!
In a food processor add the ingredients: oats, almond flour, protein powder, cacao powder, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and 3 tablespoons of water.
Mix and pulse for a few minutes until the batter becomes a thick paste. If the batter sticks to the sides, remove lid and scrape the batter with a spatula.
Remove lid. You should be able to roll the mix into a ball with your hands. If it is too dry and cannot be rolled by hand, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of water and mix again. If it is still too dry, add an additional tablespoon of water.
Take about 1 tablespoon of the oat mixture and roll it in your hands. Roll about 2 tablespoons of dough into a ball in your hands. Repeat until the remaining mix is gone.
Notes
Subsitutions and Additions
Instead of maple suryp you can use alternative liquid sweeteners like agave nectar or honey.
If you don't have chocolate protein powder, you can add an additional teaspoon cocoa powder or cacao powder.
Instead of peanut butter you can use almond butter, or another nut butter if desired.
