Berry Compote for Pancakes, Waffles, & French Toast
This Berry Compote for Pancakes, Waffles, and French Toast is a sweet and tasty way to top your breakfast with fresh or frozen berries. This easy berry compote has any berries of your choice (like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries), some water, natural sweetener, and a little cinnamon for spice.
To a sauce pot, add the berries, maple syrup, and water. Cook on medium high heat, stirring frequently. The berries will dissolve and become juicer in the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes total until the berries are warm and jammy.
Stir in the cinnamon. If the compote is too watery, stir in the corn starch and cook for an additional minute until compote is thicker.
Top compote on pancakes, waffles, crepes, oatmeal, or french toast... and enjoy!
