Cheesecake with Sour Cream Topping

This cheesecake with sour cream recipe is a creamy & decadent dessert, which is so simple to make! A sweet and delicious filling on a graham cracker crust, topped with your favorite fruit or berries.

Ingredients
  

For The Cheesecake

  • 1.5 cups sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 1 9- inch graham cracker pie crust

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Berries Nuts, or Fruit to Top

Instructions
 

  • Remove cream cheese from refrigerator so it comes to room temperature.
  • When softened, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl (or stand mixer), add the cheesecake ingredients: sour cream, softened cream cheese,  sugar, eggs, vanilla, and the lemon zest. Whisk until well combined, and there are no lumps in the filling. Add the filling to a 9-inch pie crust.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Remove the cheesecake, and allow to cook for 15 minutes.
  • Prepare the topping: mix the sour cream, sugar, vanilla together in a bowl. Pour it on top of the cheesecake and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Remove cheesecake from oven, and add any toppings like berries, fruit, or nuts. Serve and enjoy!
