This Hibiscus Margarita recipe is a bright, fresh, & flavorful drink to jazz up your next summer party! This easy cocktail is made with tequila, lime juice, and a simple syrup made with with dried hibiscus flowers, sugar, and lime.
This margarita with hibiscus has a deep ruby color from the dried hibiscus flowers. The dark sweet syrup has a gorgeous vibrant red hue, making it a beautiful and natural way to class up a traditional margarita.
Make The Simple Syrup: In a saucepan, add the water, sugar, hibiscus leaves, and lime juice (I added the whole lime half, peel and all). Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 10 minutes. Stirring with a metal spoon (the syrup may stain a wooden one, so use caution). Remove the mix from the heat, and allow to steep for about an hour.
Strain out the tea leaves and lime, and pour the strained liquid into an airtight jar. Refrigerate, and use within 2 weeks.
Mix Your Margarita
In a margarita or rocks glass, add ice. Pour tequila over the ice. Add the hibiscus simple syrup, and squeeze in the lime juice.
