Smoked Chicken Breast

Kelly Jensen
This Smoked Chicken Breast is a fantastic recipe for the electric smoker. Flavorful & high in protein - easily keto, Whole30, paleo too.  We make these every time our electric smoker is on, and they always turn out amazing!

Equipment

  • electric smoker
  • meat thermometer *see Note Below

Ingredients

  • 3 large chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup sauces I like BBQ and teriyaki
  • 2 tablespoons dry spices I like Montreal steak spice
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Set the electric smoker to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the chicken breasts in an aluminum tray. Coat the chicken breasts in rubs and spices. If using a sauce, pour directly over the chicken breasts. If using a spice, drizzle a little olive oil on the chicken first then add a pinch of spice so the spices/seasonings stick to the surface of the chicken.  I like to use BBQ sauce and Montreal Steak spice for my chicken, also Dijon mustard.
  • Place the chicken in the smokers, and smoke until the center of the chicken breasts reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit (about 3-4 hours in our smoker). Always test with a meat thermometer to make sure the chicken is fully cooked.
