This refried bean hummus is a creamy dip made with pinto beans, garlic, paprika, lime juice, and spices! A great appetizer or creamy side dish recipe. The perfect dip for veggies, tortilla chips, or to spread on toast or a sandwich for extra plant based protein.
In a large bowl, add the refried beans, garlic, tahini, smoked paprika, lime juice, chili flakes and black pepper. Mix well with a wooden spoon until the hummus is a smooth consistency. If it's too thick, add 1 teaspoon of olive oil at a time, until it reaches the consistency you prefer.
Place hummus into a bowl or plate, top with more chili flakes, fresh chopped green onion, and sesame seeds to garnish. Dip away!

If you don't want to use refried beans from a can, you can use pinto beans (drain and mash before adding) or make my delicious Instant Pot refried beans which are ready in 45 minutes and lower in sodium.
