These dehydrated kale chips make a great snack you can enjoy in your dehydrator anytime! Toss fresh kale with a blend of savory spices, and place in your dehydrator for a whole food snack.
Prep your kale. Wash and thoroughly dry your kale. Using a paring knife, carefully cut out the stems from the center of the kale leaves, and discard or compost the stems. Chop the kale into large bite-sized pieces, about 2 inches square. These will shrink in the dehydrator.
To a large mixing bowl, add the chopped kale, the olive oil, nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix with your hands, massaging the olive oil and spices into the kale for about 1 minute, until each piece of kale is coated.
Place the kale on a dehydrator rack in an even layer, ensuring no pieces overlap one another.
Set your dehydrator to 135 degrees Fahrenheit, and dehydrator for 4 hours.
Store kale chips in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
