Smoked Brisket Gravy Recipe

Use your brisket drippings to make the most delicious and flavorful smoked brisket gravy! Only a few ingredients and you have gravy in no time.  This gravy is great to drizzle over meat, mashed potatoes, or even crispy potato wedges.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brisket drippings
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup all-purpose flour gluten free if you avoid wheat products
  • 1 teaspoon spices optional for flavor
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Take the cooked brisket from the oven or smoker. Remove as much fat as you can from the drippings.
  • In a saucepan, heat the brisket drippings over low heat until melted.  Slowly wisk in the flour, 1 tablespoon at a time until the gravy begins to have a noticably thick consistency.  It should resemble the texture of maple syrup.
  • Never stop whisking, and always make sure the flour is completely dissolved before adding th next spoonful.
  • Once the gravy has a nice texture, taste and adjust seasonings as necessary, adding salt, pepper, or spices like rosemary or thyme if desired.
  • Pour gravy over meat, over mashed potatoes, or crispy potato wedges.  Mangia!
