Warm New England Lobster Rolls

These classic warm New England lobster rolls are made with butter, lemon juice, mayo, and spices. The perfect dinner for fresh-caught lobsters from the Cape!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups cooked lobster meat see notes below for live lobster instructions
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup celery finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chives
  • 1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 6-8 New England style split-top buns use gluten free if you avoid wheat
  • 1 cup green leaf lettuce
  • Dash of Tabasco sauce optional

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat the garlic and butter together until garlic has softened.  Add the cooked lobster meat and gently warm.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, celery, chives, and black pepper.  Add the lobster, draining the excess butter and leaving it in the pan.
  • Toast the New England split top buns in the broiler for 1 minute until they are lightly browned.
  • To assemble the lobster rolls: Open one toasted bun, place a leaf of green lettuce in the middle, and add a few scoops of the lobster mixture on top of the lettuce. Drizzle with extra warm garlic butter and a dash of Tabasco, if desired.
