What’s In This Cinnamon Hot Cocoa Recipe?

See the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Milk – you can use any variety you like!  The higher the fat content, the creamier the hot chocolate will be.
  • Cinnamon: which gives this hot cocoa a great flavor kick!  I love to add in a pinch for extra warmth.
  • Maple Syrup
  • Raw Cacao Powder: this raw unsweetened cacao powder is a great addition to these brownies. Make sure you use a raw cacao powder and not sweetened baking cocoa… it makes a huge difference.
  • Vanilla Extract: it’s super important to use real pure vanilla extract, and not artificial baking vanilla flavor. This real all natural vanilla is a fantastic ingredient to give this drink an extra boost.

How Do I Make This Creamy Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon?

  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan, and heat on medium. Whisk the mixture for about 5 minutes until all the ingredients are incorporated, and the hot chocolate is just coming to a simmer (not boiling).
  2. Remove from heat and serve with whipped cream, coconut cream, marshmallows, or an extra pinch of cinnamon.
