This delicious orange carrot smoothie with ginger recipe is a fantastic way to get some fruit, veggies, fiber, and protein in first thing in the morning!  I love the fresh and vibrant flavor of this drink, which is so perfect with the citrus and carrots- this is one of the best smoothie recipes, such a treat when oranges are in season!

No Cook Breakfast Recipes Perfect for Summer

This orange carrot smoothie without yogurt is a quick and simple recipe.  I love a good no-cook recipe for those days when I’m not feeling like standing around the stove, or for summer nights when it’s too hot to cook. This smoothie comes together in about 5 minutes, and doesn’t require the stove or microwave to make. Just some fresh produce, and a few pantry staple ingredients and you have a tasty meal ready in no time.  And very little to clean up afterwards… an added bonus!

The Best Blender for the Job

I recommend using a good-quality high speed blender for this recipe. I have a fantastic Vitamix blender, which I have been using for years, and it gets daily use in our home.

Choose a blender that has a lot of power, and can pulverize even the toughest of ingredients. My blender can chop ice, dates, frozen fruits, make soups, and even blend nuts into homemade nut butter. Using a good high-speed blender will make perfectly creamy smoothies and sauces every time!

Frozen Fruit Recipes For the Win!

I used frozen banana in this smoothie instead of fresh. By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have frozen fruit to use in smoothies in no time.

How Do I Make This Ginger Carrot Smoothie with Oranges?

  1. Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  2. Blend on low, and increase speed until all fruit/carrot chunks are blended and the smoothie is a creamy consistency.
  3. Pour into your favorite glass, sit back, and enjoy!

Dietary Modifications

  • This recipe is vegan and gluten free – if you are adding a protein powder, make sure it keeps with any dietary modifications you require. I like this vegan and gluten free vanilla protein for this smoothie, if I’m adding a powder!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large oranges or four small oranges, peeled
  • 2 large carrots fresh or frozen
  • 1 large banana frozen
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric fresh or frozen
  • 1 inch knob fresh ginger root or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1.5 cup ice
  • 2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cups water
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder vegan

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a high speed blender.
  • Blend on low, and increase speed until all fruit/carrot chunks are blended and the smoothie is a creamy consistency.
