This Vegan Garlic Bread in the Oven is a garlic lover’s dream come true! Crunchy, crispy, and wicked garlicky with loads of fresh garlic.
Serve with your next pasta night, and everyone at the table will dig in! Serve this garlic bread along side our easy no-cook spaghetti sauce, with Instant Pot pasta, or Penne Alla Vodka with Chicken!
Hi, my name is Kelly, and I am a garlic lover! I put garlic in almost everything: soups, salad dressings, pastas, curries, etc. etc. Here are all the recipes on my site that features garlic.… which is probably most of them.
So naturally, we eat a LOT of garlic bread on our homestead. I am also a pasta lover, so nothing pairs better with a slurp-y tomato-ey pasta sauce than crisp garlic bread. This is one of our favorite side dish recipes that is great with noodles, curries, chili, and stew!
The great thing about this is that you can use any bread you’d like! I have a few go-to bread recipes: 4 Ingredient No Knead Bread, Olive Oil Skillet Bread, and Clay Pot Bread. French baguettes work really well for this garlic bread, or use a Gluten Free bread you have it on hand.
This Baked Vegan Garlic Bread Is:
- Savory
- Crunchy
- Crispy
- Slightly spicy
- Vegan
- Can be gluten-free
- Baked in the oven
What’s In This Oven Cooked Garlic Bread?
- 1 Loaf of Bread – you can use any kind, but my famous 4 Ingredient No Knead Bread is what we use!
- GARLIC, fresh raw garlic
- Garlic powder
- Olive Oil
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- Paprika
- Salt to Taste
Vampire’s beware! I use both fresh garlic and garlic powder in this to give it an extra punch of garlic flavor. I also like a bit of spice in this too – red pepper flakes and paprika offset kick this garlic bread up a notch.
Make Garlic Bread Vegan for a Healthy Version
This vegan garlic bread is a simple way to get extra veggies in your diet. I’m all about making recipes plant-based when I can. Vegan cooking does NOT have to be bland, boring, or flavorless… It’s quite the opposite when done right. By building meals around vegan pantry staples and swapping in a few plant-based ingredients you can make healthier meals for you and your family. I made a list of my 125 favorite vegan pantry ingredients that we use on a weekly basis, and check out all my vegan recipes here that are on The Herbeevore. These easy and healthy recipes are fantastic meatless and dairy free meals for your table.
How Do I Cook Garlic Bread in the Oven?
- Set turn oven broiler to LOW
- Cut bread into desired serving portions: I like thin slices for a traditional round boule loaf, and I like to cut a baguette in half lengthwise.
- In a small dish or jar, add the olive oil, raw garlic, garlic powder, and mix well to combine.
- Using a basting brush, cover the face up bread with the olive oil/garlic mixture. Ensure that every nook and cranny of the bread has garlic.
- Place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, and check. Each oven’s broiler is different, so be very careful not to burn your garlic bread. Make sure it is crisp and beginning to brown at the edges, not harden and blacken.
- Remove garlic bread from oven, and sprinkle the top with crushed red pepper flakes, paprika, and salt.
