This fresh mango jalapeno margarita recipe is a sweet, tangy, and refreshing way to kick off happy hour! Blend fresh mangoes and jalapeno peppers for a frozen cocktail anytime!

Summer and frozen margaritas go hand in hand for me!  I love the sweet & citrus-y combination of the classic margarita, blended with ice and poured into a tall glass. This fun mango margarita is a twist on the classic. Instead of simple syrup, I blend a fresh ripe mango in the drink for a burst of color and sweet tropical flavor.

What’s In This Mango Margarita with Jalapeno Peppers?

See the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Mango – I like using fresh or frozen mangoes, depending on what I have on hand. Mango is sweet, juicy, and so delicious blended into this drink.
  • Jalapeno peppers for a kick.
  • Tequila! I used reposado, but use whatever kind you prefer.
  • Lime Juice, preferably freshly squeezed
  • Ice
  • Margarita Salt… because salt, lime, tequila is a classic combo!

And of course, cactus margarita glasses, because they are SO fun.

A Great No Sugar Added Margarita Cocktail

A lot of margaritas you’d get at a bar or restaurant are made with simple syrup, which is a syrup made of sugar and water.  Instead of adding sugar to this recipe, the blended mango adds enough sweetness instead. So you can have a sweet drink that is also refined sugar free!

I’ve been trying to have a fun cocktail every Friday, to celebrate the end of the work (from home!) week and to kickoff the weekend in style. Margaritas s are my summer go-to cocktail, so I’ll be making a lot of these as long as my mango supply hold out.  If you want to use frozen mangoes, that would work too! Just use 1 cup frozen mango instead of the fresh.

  2. Take your margarita glass, dip the edges in water or lime juice, and roll the rim in margarita salt.
  3. Pour the margarita into your salt-rimmed  glass, garnish with a slice of lime. Enjoy!

The Best Blender for Margaritas

I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my Vitamix is definitely the best one I’ve owned. This high-speed blender will blend even the toughest of ingredients into pulp.

I prefer using my blender for recipes like this, as it’s much easier to clean the Vitamix. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis! For smoothies or cocktails, this blender gets the job done.

A Great Frozen Mango Recipe

If you have frozen mangoes, this a great way into use them in a fun cocktail. By using freezer ingredients, I can stock up when they are on sale, and use them in all kinds of great dishes. It saves me a trip to the store, and I can have amazing homemade cocktails in no time.
