Pesto Garlic Bread (Vegan, GF)

This vegan pesto garlic bread recipe is bright and herby, loaded with spring greens, garlic, herbs, and spices! A great side dish for pasta night.  This easy bread recipe comes together in about 10 minutes, just in time to get on the table for a last-minute dinner side!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 baguette halved lengthwise, gluten free
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 cup Pesto 3 recipes for vegan pesto below in the notes!
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh basil to garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, fresh garlic, garlic powder, garlic salt, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Slice baguette lengthwise and brush with a thin layer of olive oil mixture.
  • Place baguette in oven and broil on High for 1 or 2 minutes until the edges of the baguette begin to lightly brown.
  • Remove from oven, and spread a thin layer of pesto on top of the bread. Place bread back under the broiler for another 2 minutes or until bread is crispy and golden brown. Keep an eye on the bread so it doesn't burn.
  • Once bread is finished, remove from oven and top with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and fresh basil.  Mangia!
