This warm spiced cranberry sauce recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving or any time of year. Oranges and ginger give this sauce a bright and bold flavor!
Due to some last-minute change of plans, we ended up spending American Thanksgiving on the homestead this year… just the two of us! Well us, and the 3 kitties.
We decided to do a full-on Thanksgiving spread with all the fixins! I decided this would be the perfect time try out a few crockpot recipes, as I had the day before Thanksgiving off and plenty of time to slice, dice, and do some serious meal prep.
This was a super easy recipe, which cooks overnight on low and is ready first thing in the morning. The orange and cinnamon also make the house smell AMAZING – added bonus there.
The one thing I learned about this cranberry sauce, is do NOT cook with a whole orange rind in the recipe, because it will make the cranberry sauce bitter. A little zest is perfect, but not a whole orange.
