This Baked Garlic Bread is a garlic lover’s dream come true! Crunchy, crispy, and wicked garlicky with loads of fresh garlic.
Hi, my name is Kelly, and I am a garlic lover! I put garlic in almost everything: soups, salad dressings, pastas, curries, etc. etc. Here are all the recipes on my site that features garlic... which is probably most of them.
So naturally, we eat a LOT of garlic bread. I am also a pasta lover, so nothing pairs better with a slurpy tomatoey pasta sauce than crisp garlic bread.
What’s In This Baked Garlic Bread?
- 1 Loaf of Bread – you can use any kind, but my famous 4 Ingredient No Knead Bread is what we use!
- GARLIC, fresh raw garlic
- Garlic powder
- Olive Oil
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- Paprika
- Salt to Taste
The great thing about this is that you can use any bread you’d like! I have a few go-to bread recipes: 4 Ingredient No Knead Bread, Olive Oil Skillet Bread, and Clay Pot Bread. French baguettes work really well for this garlic bread, or use a Gluten Free bread you have it on hand.
This Garlic Lover’s Baked Garlic Bread Is:
- GARLICKY
- Savory
- Crunchy
- Crispy
- Slightly spicy
- Vegan
- Can be gluten-free
- Baked in the oven
Vampire’s beware! I use both fresh garlic and garlic powder in this to give it an extra punch of garlic flavor. I also like a bit of spice in this too – red pepper flakes and paprika offset kick this garlic bread up a notch.
How Do I Make Baked Garlic Bread (Vegan, GF)?
- Set turn oven broiler to LOW
- Cut bread into desired serving portions: I like thin slices for a traditional round boule loaf, and I like to cut a baguette in half lengthwise.
- In a small dish or jar, add the olive oil, raw garlic, garlic powder, and mix well to combine.
- Using a basting brush, cover the face up bread with the olive oil/garlic mixture. Ensure that every nook and cranny of the bread has garlic.
- Place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes, and check. Each oven’s broiler is different, so be very careful not to burn your garlic bread. Make sure it is crisp and beginning to brown at the edges, not harden and blacken.
- Remove garlic bread from oven, and sprinkle the top with crushed red pepper flakes, paprika, and salt.
Dietary Modifications
Use Gluten-Free bread if you are celiac or avoiding wheat.
Alternatively, you could use naan or whole wheat bread if you aren’t gluten-free.
