Crispy Sweet Potato Fries in the Oven (Vegan, Gluten Free)

These crispy sweet potato fries in the oven are perfectly crispy, cooked on a sheet pan, and only have 4 simple ingredients. Quick and from scratch, easy to cook at home. Paleo, Whole30, vegan, and Gluten free… a recipe everyone at your table will absolutely love!

What’s In These Sweet Potato Fries?

  • Sweet Potatoes, of course! I leave the skins on for added nutrients, but you can always take them off if you prefer peeled
  • Corn Starch or Arrowroot Powder: gives these fries their signature crunch
  • Montreal Steak Spice: our preferred seasoning for these fries. You can use any spice blend you prefer through: Adobo seasoning, Italian spice blend, or plain salt and pepper would also be delish!
  • Coconut Oil for ‘frying’ on the sheetpan. The oil allows the fries to crisp a bit when coated in the corn starch and spice blend. If you don’t have coconut oil, any high oleic oil will work, like sunflower or peanut oils.

How Do I Make these Sweet Potato Fries in the Oven?

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the cut sweet potatoes, corn starch, seasoning, and half of the oil. Toss all the ingredients well, making sure the potatoes are coated evenly in the corn starch.
  4. Line the sweet potatoes in an even row on the sheet pan.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping half way.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with a dash of salt or fresh chopped parsley, and enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 large sweet potatoes cut into long strips
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch or arrowroot powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning we like Montreal Steak Spice best
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
